Images from PSWD Rose Shows 2004-2007
( The following rose arrangements images come from various rose shows in the Pacific Southwest District from 2004-2007. I have kept them for the history and the memories. All were snapshots taken with a little Nikon Coolpix that fit in my purse while traveling to judge rose shows. The Coolpix was my first digital camera (2004-2008), and it was used just for traveling to rose shows, while I continued to use my Nikon film camera for everything else. Many are out of focus. Some have terrible shadows from the use of on-camera flash. The white balance is not balanced. They are three digital cameras, UNM’s Digital Photography program, and six to nine years ago. These are not the kind of images I would take and post in 2013. But, they hold pleasant memories for me as an ARS Accredited Rose and Rose Arrangement Judge, and I hope they hold pleasant memories for other judges and arrangers. I can not believe you already have designs from yesterday’s show in Glendale posted here. Good for you. All of the photos are wonderful, especially the yours with Mermaid.

Are you still watching this blog? I’m a good gardener..slowly giving way with my English garden type perennial gardens and working in natives for beneficial pollinators. I am keeping some non-natives, you’ll have to pry my peonies, daffodils and iris from my cold dead hands. I am looking for a climbing rose that will not mind being one dune back from Lake Michigan. It is so important to me that it smells of roses..I want to smell it wafting in my windows at night and mixing with the sound of the surf. Lots of blooms through out the season is a bonus.

I have been recovering from medical issues. I’m hoping to get back on a more regular basis soon.
